Cracked heels are a condition in which our feet is dry and rough. Cracked heels are very painful. It is occur because we don’t take proper care of our feet. However there are some more reasons. Mostly women have to suffer from this problem as compared to men. Although any one can suffer from this problem. Sometimes the season is also playing a key role to form cracked heels because the winter air makes our skin dry which can cause this problem.
 

Causes of cracked heels

1) Pollution

It is one of the main causes of dry feet because pollution are always harmful for us in all situations.
 

2) Excess exposure in sunlight

All of us know that sunlight gives us vitamin D which is beneficial for our body but one thing you know that excess exposure in sunlight can makes your skin dry which can cause cracked heels.
 

3) Dehydration

It is also a reason to formation of this problem because lack of water makes your skin dry.
 

4) Winter season

Many of the people like winter season but winter season is not good for our skin because the dry wind blowing in winter can make our skin dry and form cracked heels.

 

5) Detergent

Detergent is used for washing clothes but when we use detergent for longer duration then it can cause itching problem to the skin and can cause cracked heels.
 

 

Some Home remedies for Cracked heels

1) Avocado

Take an half ripe  avocado and a banana. Grind both the fruit to make a paste. Apply this paste to your cracked heels and leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse it off using normal water. Repeat this remedy daily for several weeks, it will help to fix your cracked heels.
 

2) Honey

Take 2 tsp of honey and add 2 tsp of raw milk in it. Mix it well. Now apply this mixture to your feet, massage it for few minutes and let it stay for 20 minutes. Wash it off using lukewarm water. Repeat this remedy daily until your cracked heels is fix (1).
 

3) Baking soda

Take required amount of Baking soda and add some water in it to make its paste. Now apply this paste to your affected area and let it stay for 5 minutes. Wash it off using normal water. Repeat this remedy 3 times in a week it will help to reduce your cracked heels.
Note:- After washing your feet apply some moisturizer cream to your feet.
 

4) Aloe vera

Take a fresh leaf of aloe vera, peel it off and extract its gel. Apply this gel directly to your cracked heels and leave it for half an hour then rinse it off using lukewarm water. Repeat this remedy daily until your cracked heels is fix.
 

5) Olive oil

Take 2 tsp of olive oil and apply it directly to your affected skin, massage it for few minutes then let it stay for 25 minutes. Wash it off using normal water. Follow this remedy daily for several weeks it will help to reduce your cracked heels.
 

6) Wax

Take required amount of wax and heat it for few minutes then add mustard oil in it to make its paste. Wash your feet with lukewarm water then apply this paste to your cracked heels and wear your socks. Leave it over night. Next morning when you wake up just rinse it off using normal water. Repeat this remedy daily until your cracked heels is reduce.
 

7) Apple cider vinegar

Take a basin and fill it with lukewarm water, add 4 cups of apple cider vinegar in it. Soak your feet in basin for 15 minutes. Repeat this remedy daily you will observe that your cracked heels is reducing.
 

8) Rice flour

Take 3 tsp of rice flour and add 1 tsp of honey, some amount of vinegar in it to make its fine paste. Apply it on your cracked heels and let it stay for 10 minutes. Wash it off using normal water. Repeat this remedy 4 times in a week and after few days you’ll observe that your cracked heels is reducing.
 

9) Vaseline

Take a tsp of Vaseline and add 1 tsp of lemon in it. Mix it well. Apply this mixture to your dry feet and wear your socks. Leave it over night. Wash it off using lukewarm water. Repeat this remedy daily until your cracked heels is fix (2).
 

10) Turmeric

Take 2 tsp of turmeric powder and add some amount of coconut oil in it to make its paste. Apply this paste to your dry feet and leave it for 20 minutes then rinse it off using lukewarm water. Repeat this remedy 3 to 4 times in a week, it will help to reduce your cracked heels.
 

11) Vegetable oil

Take some amount of vegetable oil. Apply it on your cracked feet and wear your socks. Leave it overnight then wash it off using lukewarm water. Repeat this remedy daily and you will observe that your cracked heels is reducing.
 

12) Glycerin

Take 3 tsp of glycerin and add 3 tsp of rose water in it. Apply this mixture to your affected feet and wear your socks. Let it stay for overnight. Repeat this remedy daily, it will help to get rid of cracked heels.
 

13) Oatmeal

Take 3 tsp of oatmeal powder and add 3 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of Baking soda, some amount of water in it to make its paste. Now apply this paste to your dry feet and leave it for 20 minutes. Wash it off using lukewarm water. Repeat this remedy thrice a week it will help to fix your cracked heels.

 

14) Banana

Take a ripe banana, grind it to make its paste. Wash your feet with lukewarm water then apply this paste to your dry feet. Leave it for 20 minutes. Wash it off using normal water. Repeat this remedy daily until your cracked heels is reduce.
 

15) Lemon

Take a lemon and squeeze it in a bowl. Apply its juice directly to your cracked heels with the help of cotton pad. Leave it for 15 to 20 minutes then rinse it off using lukewarm water. After washing it off don’t forget to apply some moisturizer cream to it. Repeat this remedy daily until your cracked heels are fix.

 

16) Triphala powder

Take a tsp of triphala powder and add 2 tsp groundnut oil in it to make its paste. Apply this paste to your cracked heels and leave it overnight. In the morning, rinse it off using normal water. Repeat this remedy daily and you will observe that your cracked heels are reducing.
 

17) Pumice stone

Take a bucket and fill it with lukewarm water. Soak your dry feet in bucket for few minutes then take it out and rub pumice stone for 5 to 10 minutes to your feet. Again wash your feet using normal water and Apply some moisturizer cream to your feet. Repeat this remedy daily until your cracked heels are fix.
 

18) Camphor

Take 2 cube of camphor and put it in a hot coconut oil. Wait it until the whole camphor dissolve in oil. Now add 1 tsp of aloe vera gel in it. Mix it well. Apply this mixture to your cracked heels and massage it for few minutes. Repeat this remedy daily until your cracked heels are reduce.
 

19) Henna leaves

Take some fresh henna leaves and grind it to make its paste. Add half lemon juice and mix it well. Apply this paste to your cracked heels and leave it for 20 minutes then rinse it off using lukewarm water. After rinsing it off don’t forget to apply some moisturizer cream to your feet. Repeat this remedy daily until your cracked heels are fix.
 

20) Azadirachta indica leaves ( neem leaves)

Take some fresh Azadirachta indica leaves, grind it to make its paste. Add 2 tsp of turmeric powder and mix it well. Apply this mixture to your cracked heels and leave it for 20 to 25 minutes. Rinse it off using normal water. Repeat this remedy daily until your cracked heels is fix.

 

21) Oatmeal Scrub

Take 2 tsp of oatmeal, add 1 tsp of olive oil in it after that grind the mixture properly to make a fine paste. Now wash your feet with mild soap and then apply this paste on your heels. Let it stay for 25 minutes after that wash it with lukewarm water. Repeat this remedy twice a week for better result.

 

 

 

Precautions

1) Always eat balanced diet
2) Don’t expose yourself in sunlight for longer duration.
3) Drink lots of water in a day.
4) Avoid Smoking
5) Always use moisturizer cream to your feet.
